Spearhead is a selective herbicide for the control of a wide variety of broad leaved weeds in established turf. For best results, the grass and weeds should be actively growing at the time of application. In most years, treatment during the early part of the season is recommended although spraying at any time between April and October will be effective, except during drought or waterlogged conditions. Only use Spearhead on turf when the sward is satisfactorily established and regular mowing has begun under normal good management.

Further Information

Young turf in the spring or early summer may be ready for spraying approximately two months after germination, but turf sown in the late summer or autumn should not be sprayed until growth is resumed in the following spring, perhaps eight months after sowing. Applications made under or followed by adverse conditions such as waterlogged and/or cold conditions may result in transient damage.

Avoid mowing during the 3 - 4 days preceding or following treatment. Avoid drift as much as possible by keeping the nozzles at the correct height and working only under conditions of little or no wind. Small amounts of Spearhead spray may cause serious injury to herbaceous plants and fruit and vegetable crops. Cuttings from the treated areas must not be used as mulch for soft fruit, vegetables, ornamentals or any other crop. Use Spearhead at 4 - 5 litres per hectare. Half fill sprayer with clean water. Add the required quantity of Spearhead and complete filling. This aids the effective mixing for all Selective Herbicides.
